Editor's Review:

OmNovia has received a few negative customer comments in the past but it seems to have pulled its socks up and made great strides in customer care. It offers a professional webinar service with a great variety of features to help customize your webinars and give a polished feel.

In particular we were impressed by the maximum capacity for your webinars that omNovia offers. 5000 is certainly one of the largest available and makes this webinar service a good option for anyone who is expecting a huge turnout. You can also easily set up a ticketing system, which allows you to charge individuals for attending a webinar and therefore recoup some of the costs of the service, or potentially even make money. Whilst we’re on the topic of money, OmNovia is a little quiet about just how much they charge, although its 25 user rate of $49.00 a month would indicate that its rates are about average for the service being offered.

The webinar service available is browser-based for attendees, meaning that they won’t need to download a special program in order to gain access to a webinar and the various presentation features that come with it. An interesting feature worth mentioning is the multiple-presenters function, which allows more than one speaker to take the mic. Each speaker can also interact with the same document, which is broadcast to all the attendees, and therefore a collaboration can take place in real time. Hosts and speakers can also go into a privacy mode when they’re not “on stage”, allowing them to discuss their next move and to go over their notes, making the whole process seem that little more professional. It really can appear amateur if one speaker gets flustered or has to start clicking buttons and finding documents in the middle of a webinar! Another useful feature of the webinar service offered by omNovia.com is the ability to customize your seminar room with logos and banners. These allow you to present a professional front and build on a brand or market image, whether it’s for a particular product or an institution as a whole.

If security is important to you then you can rest peacefully, as webinars will be encrypted. However, some other webinar service providers do offer a more customizable security package, which allows you to increase or decrease the decryption of specific files, audio or video, to free up system resources and make sure things run smoothly. If you’re having any issues then customer support is available in several forms, including a live chat and an FAQ.  Written advice seems a bit thin on the ground, though, and it would be a good idea for OmNovia to make more information available online so that users can quickly gain access to the facts they need without having to speak to a technical advisor.

OmNovia.com offers a great webinar service for a variety of events, large or small. Prices are dependent on your unique situation and needs, but preliminary searches seem to suggest that you’ll be charged an honest and fair price. This is certainly one to consider if the quote meets your budget, and the 20 day free trial is worth a try in our books!
